National Tree Day 2019

National Tree Day is a major highlight of the Living Links calendar. What’s not to love, when thousands of people across Australia head out to a local reserve to help revegetate the natural environment? It’s all about giving back to nature, connecting with your community and spending a fun day outside.

Last Sunday, Living Links was proud to sponsor two fantastic National Tree Day events, organised by two amazing Friends groups: First Friends of Dandenong Creek (Abbey Walk in Vermont) and Friends of Dandenong Valley Parklands (Koomba Park in Vermont South), along with Maroondah City Council and Parks Victoria. In total, 6200+ native plants were planted by over 400+ enthusiastic volunteers across the two sites! Thanks to everyone who came along to do their bit, and to all the organisers for making things run so smoothly and doing all the work behind the scenes in the lead-up.

This work was funded through the Victorian Government as part of the Living Links Transforming the Dandenong Creek Corridor project.
